Season 1 was premiered on September 22, 2003. The season had twenty four episodes in it. The series with the two brothers, started with Alan and his son, coming to stay with his brother, Charlie. Charlie takes it as a complete interference in the beginning, but when realizes that he has no options, gives into the situation. Charlie soon realizes his new responsibilities and helps his brother with the upbringing his son, Jake, while Alan tries to get back his wife Judith. The season generally revolves around two brothers, who are completely opposite to each other, trying to adjust with their new environment and with each other and in the process getting back to their old days. They are generally seen dating some girl or the other. The series also focuses on the couples: Alan’s and Judith’s divorce, and the problems that their child faces, because of that. With all this, we also have Alan and Charlie’s mother, Evelyn, who is a self obsessed female. In the series she is going around with her neighbor. The series ends with Charlie getting scared as the girl he last slept with, tells him that she is pregnant, because of which Charlie decides to visit a doctor for vasectomy.
