Often mistaken for Matthew Broderick, Jon Cryer at a very young age knew that he wanted to be an actor. Born in a family, where his mother, Gretchen Cryer an actress and father David Cryer, also an actor, Jon was into acting since his childhood. He got his first movie “No Small Affair” at the age of nineteen and popularity came to him with the role of Phil in the movie “Pretty in Pink”.
Lucky with his film career, television success was not easy for him. Whatever series he got selected in, got cancelled. He himself started considering his television career as unsuccessful. It was only with his role of Alan in the series “Two and a Half Men” that television success came to him. In the series he plays the role of a divorcee, with a son to handle. The series is currently in its sixth season and is loved by all.
Cryer was married to actress Sarah Trigger, with whom he also had a son. The couple divorced in 2004. In June 2007, Jon married Lisa Joyner an entertainment reporter.
