Conchata Ferrell is an American actress. She took birth in Charleston, West Virginia in the family of Mescal Loraine and Luther Martin Ferrell. The lady grew up in Circleville, Ohio. Ferrell joined West Virginia University. She graduated from Marshall University receiving a degree in social studies in education.

She made her acting debut by appearing on the stage. She initially appeared on the original Broadway cast of Lanford Wilson’s ‘Hot L Baltimore’. Her next appearance was on the off-Broadway ‘The Sea Horse’. Her three-decade long acting career includes roles on Network, Mystic Pizza, Edward Scissorhands, Erin Brockovich, Crime and Punishment in Suburbia, Mr. Deeds and K-PAX etc. Among her other acting credits are ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘Hot L Baltimore’, ‘Teen Angel’, ‘BJ and the Bear’, ‘Good Times’, ‘Hearts Afire’, ‘Townies’, ‘Night Court’ and ‘Push, Nevada’ etc. In an episode of Quincy M.E, Conchata Ferrell portrayed the character of Mrs. Werner. The episode which she made appearance on was entitled ‘Into the Murdering Mind’. In 1987, she portrayed blunt, authoritative judge and in 1999, she made appearance on an episode of ‘Friends’.

In 1974, Conchata Ferrell won Drama Desk Award in the category of Outstanding Performance for her appearance on ‘The Sea Horse’. In the very same year, Conchata Ferrell won ‘Theatre World Award’ for her very same performance. In 1981, the lady won Western Heritage Awards in the category of Bronze Wrangler for her appearance on Heartland. In 1992, she received a nomination for Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and the series which she received that honor for, was L.A. Law. She received the next Emmy Award nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on Two and a Half Men in 2005. In 2007, she again got the very same nomination for the same role.

Conchata Ferrell is married to Arnie Anderson and the couple has one daughter named Samantha.
